1994.  The Mill House—restoration of historic brick home at Folly Mills Creek, Rt. 11, Augusta County, VA.  Creation of rental cottage out of barn.  Primary residence until sale in 2002.

 

113 Garber1999.  113 Garber St. cottage—small “railroad worker” cottage on Sears Hill, Staunton, VA.   Complete renovation.

 

fromloft_2_02472000.  1140 Sangers Lane—Augusta County, VA—brick 1 and ½ story brick structure without basic amenities.    Installed kitchen, bath and half and renovation of space. Timber Frame addition completed summer of 2013 using wood from the property milled on site.

 

IMG_AFRAME_04932002.  Dresden, Maine (near Wiscasset)—35 acres and “off the grid” A-frame.   Ongoing improvements to lane, structure, land, etc.   Occasional use at present.  Mostly for long-term personal investment and pleasure.

“The Saloon”—commercial storefront and upper loft in Downtown Wharf Historic district of Staunton, VA.  Extensive rehabilitation work after sitting empty for decades.    Work performed according to Department of Interior’s “Standards for Historic Rehabilitation” (for Historic Tax Credits).  Awarded Virginia Downtown Development Award 2004.   Sold shortly after.  (Regenerations’ property). 2005.  Cabin and land, Lost River, West Virginia—ongoing modest improvements.   Get-Away home for personal use and sharing with friends.   (And vacation rental.)

 

 

jefferson_crop_06992007.  122 No. Jefferson St.—completed rebuild of foundation, exterior carpentry, new metal roof, rebuilt chimney of this charming cottage in Newtown historic district of Staunton, VA.   Ready for extensive interior work.    (Was asked to take on a larger leadership role with college and had to put this on back burner for several years.   Now continuing project as time and funding allow.)   (Regenerations’ property.)

Renovation of large corner property in historic Gospel Hill district downtown Staunton.    2 phase project of spacious, light-filled units.   Lower level luxury apartment with upper modestly priced.   (Dwell Well property)

2013.  305 Kalorama St. (pictured above) Cottage and Studio apartment right next door (pictured above).   Renovation of charming 1920’s “kit house” and the studio unit behind.    Appealing and affordable units.  (Rent Content property.)
